Dear Guide sisters:
We are
joyfully sendind you this letter to invite you to participate of the Gathering
of Latin America Region that we’re leading on October, 7-10th, 2005 in
Buenos Aires.
The theme will be “Guiding, an inclusive pedagogy in exclusion times” and
it accompanies the theme with which we are working in a world level; to put
girls and teenagers at the center of our work.
In a world
that changes quickly, the economical, educative and health dificulties and the
unemployment raise the situation of exclusion of girls and teenagers, who
nowadays have more dificulties to accede to their basic rights.
The Guide movement, with its particular pedagogy, proposes to distribute
opportunities to be protagonists to all the girls with justice; to make their
words to be listened; to develop themselves, from the group’s life and through
the game and the service, to be responsible and solidar persons, including all
of them.
The adult
educators need to go deep on the key elements of the Guide pedagogy, as much as
to prepare themselves to watch the reality of the children of the world,
specially of those who are submitted to the violence of exclusion.

OBJETIVES
This is why the objectives of this gathering will be:
provide to the adult leaders an space of reflection and study;
go deep into the reality of girls and teenagers of our countries;
review the elements of the Guide pedagogy that make it a deeply inclusive pedagogy; the relationship educator – guide; the progression; the communitary life; the life in contact with nature; the service
recognize the place of adults in the increase of resilient attitudes in girls and teenagers.
introduce into a
program of peace and reconciliation education.

THEME
The
theme that will be work is organised around four points.
1. The world in which we live, the social, economical
and cultural web in which our children grow up.
2. The Guidings pedagogy as an inclusive pedagogy.
3. The link of the adults educator with the children.
Resilient educators.
4. The education for peace and solidarity.
This gathering is addressed to adult leaders of Nacional Associations who may act as multipliers of this theme at seminars and courses in each country.
The costo is about US$ 100.-, that includes stay, meals and work material.
At the
momento, we still don’t count with finantial help for travel tickets. We’re
searching for financial help, but we still haven’t had any answer. It would be
great that each association would also make this in its own country.
We send you enclosed the pre-inscription form,
that you may send by post, electronic mail or fax before march, 30th. It’s quite
important that we may have the pre-inscriptions by then, in order to organize
the gathering properly, and also because the participants will receive
informative material begore the gathering.

“The education is the point in which we decide if we love the world as much
as to assume a responsibility for it and, by that, to save it from the
inevitable ruin that would overcome if something new, something young wouldn’t
overcome.
And education is also where we decide if we love our children as much as to not
expel them from our world and let them free to their own resources and to not
steal from their hands the possibility of making something new, something that
we didn’t foresee; if we love them enough to prepare them for the task of
renewing a common world.”
