ENCUENTRO " EMMAÚS "

The theme of the gathering, “Guiding, an inclusive pedagogy in exclusion times”, was developed by having a different theme each day and with the light of different signs and the presence of the Holy Word.

During the first day the theme was “the world in which we live, the social, economic and cultural scheme in which our girls grow up.”

The bachelor Viviana Aragno made an analysis of the changes that the world is suffering in general and how our girls grow up in it. At night, divided in ages groups, the participants performed characteristical situations of their childhood and they even recalled some dances and game.

The theme of the second day was “the link between the adult educator and the children and the guide pedagogy”.

The bachelor Sabina Melero talk about the resilience, the ability to overcome the adversity, which are its basements and how the link between the adults and the girls and teenagers can help to fortify the resilient ability.

Then, the bachelor Silvia Staib de Chanes made the participants to go over the guide pedagogy elements: the patrol system, the life in comunity, the progression, the contact with nature, the faith pedagogy in the center of the guide pedagogy.

A simple and moving evening party made us remember those persons that are significative in our lives.

The film “Billy Elliot”, projected at night, allowed us to analyse some of the concepts worked during the sessions.

The theme worked on the third day was “to educate for peace and solidarity”.

The bachelor María Rosa Tapia, in representation of CLAYSS (Latnamerican  Center of learning and solidary service) explained how the learning-service and the solidarity are ways to educate for peace.

Then, Carmen Cáceres coordinated a workshop based on the Cáritas International document, “Cáritas Training Manual – Construction of Peace”.

In the afternoon, the intensive work relaxed when the participants made a trip to Buenos Aires downtown, and visited the neighborhoods of La Boca, San Telmo and Puerto Madero.

When we got back, the mass invited the participants and some guests to share the bread.

Then, all the delegations got ready for the International Party, where we had typical food, sweets and dances of each contry.

The theme of the last day was “other languages”.

Elena Santas Cruz’s worshop surprised everybody, because she showed how by using other languages, in her case the puppets, we can comunicate with our girls and our teenagers.
