BUENOS AIRES IS ALREADY TO-DAY !

Don’t speak too soon! Don’t say that you’ll have time to worry about the next ICCG meeting in Buenos Aires!  Don’t say too soon that this world Gathering is too far away, that there are many other things to deal with and that one has no time for things like this

But say that this World Gathering in Buenos Aires is not just one more thing to do on the top of everything else, that this is not an activity that one has to add to other activities, one more worry.  ICCG is not just one more thing, on the contrary, ICCG is the guiding that you experience, it is the guiding that you are living right now.  ICCG is not an idea, it is the girls  that make up your association, your “council” or your pastoral group right within WAGGGS itself.

ICCG is not a superstructure, but it is faces of children, teenagers and the young.  ICCG is not first of all an institution, it is first of all people.  ICCG is not about what happens high up, but it is about what happens down below. 

In order to prepare for Buenos Aires, you don’t have homework to do or lessons to learn.  ICCG asks you to do only what you do anyway, but take enough distance and try to be aware of what you are doing.

Listen!The voice of teenagers
is the path for ICCG

 From now on, until we meet in Buenos Aires, we just simply have to accept the questions put by children, teenagers and the young of our associations

What do they say?  What do they experience?  What do they expect?

For the time being, you are not going to Buenos Aires, but Buenos Aires is with you wherever you are, with all those questions that make up the life of the children, the teenagers and the young of to-day    

In order to prepare for Buenos Aires do not try to find out what you have to do on the top of your other duties.  Do what you usually do, but do it with passion, do it with your eyes wide open listening carefully.  Discover, try to see the future through the girls for whom you are responsible as a guide.  Discover the future and you’ll find that it has a nice taste of Gospel.
