Thinking about Christmas is thinking about the birth of the Child, about the arrival of the son of God, of a God become flesh. In order this so meaningful event to be possible in history, a woman was necessary and we want to make our reflections about her.

Advent, is way to Belen, it is starting walking towards a cave that is empty, cold and dark, but waiting for an arrival. Through the stony path, we see a woman walking, a humble young town woman, who carries in her entrails the God of life. Who is she? we ask ourselves. What has she done to be worth of God’s trust? What does this humble woman have to make God notice her?
Maria is the woman, the secret is in her personality, in her conviction and in her giving. This woman able to break the costumes of her times because of loyalty to this God. A strong woman who isn’t afraid of speaking face to face with God itself, who dares to ask, who wants to know which is the plan that God has for her.
In front of Maria’s presence, I think about every one of the girls, young women, adults of the Guide movement and I ask myself in this so conflictive time we have to live, if we are really making ourselves with a strong personality, decided, if we are prepared to live this deep meeting face to
                        face with God, if we are able to carry the God of life, start walking in the way towards the
                        service deep vocation. If we could show that God, who is waiting for us in the person who needs.

I wish we were able to embody the law and the promise in this world as an empty cave, which is expecting the birth of the Savior, and having Maria as a model we were authentic and real protagonists in the hole of a society that needs the presence of God.
