When the day was breaking
on Sunday, the women went to the tomb, they were going to do what their
hearts were asking for, they were going to bury decently the one who had
built up the hope for a new life in their hearts, the hope that God was
taking them into account.
Knowing the stone was difficult to move, they were wondering what to do, who
was going to help them, but that didn´t stop them because when the heart has
the strength, nothing can stop it, when love is real, there is no stone that
can prevent its arrival.
However, God has always the initiative and He goes beyond what we may expect
or wish because he loves us so much that he doesn´t mind giving himself
completly.
In great surprise the women found the stone removed, God became aware. How
many hard stones do we have to remove from our heart, from our society? If
we offered our life, if we opened our hearts, God would be able to work the
miracle of removing our heavy stones.
The women are not able yet to understand what is happening. They find a
young man there and without knowing he was an angel, they ask him: If you
have taken him, tell us where. How big this women´s love is, they are not
afraid of overcoming the cultural obstacle and they dare to speak to this
stranger because love can do anything. The young man answers: “Why are you
looking for somebody who is alive among the dead ones? He has resucitated”.
The women`s hearts change drastically, suddenly their minds open, there are
no obstacles and they remember what the Lord has taught them and they are
able to understand… At that moment, they understood everything Jesús had
been telling them all along those years: hope has sense, love defeats
anything, life defeats death... They understood Jesus had resucitated.
They can´t stop themselves from saying what has happened, they run to spread
the good news happily, the disciples proclaim the Gospels happily, the ones
which have always been heard in church, in each of our hearts, the core of
our faith: Christ has resucitated.
Today we also have to be like these women, we have to proclaim the Gospels
happily.
Happy
Easter!
