creating reconciliation ways

 

    The construction of peace, in the base itself of the founder's thought has been for the guides
a compromise, a job since their beginning.

 

                In the programs of every association, the orientation of the World Association of Guides,
                                in multiple projects the education for the peace has been present.


 

   AMGE:

A decade ago, the package of materials for the education for the peace of the WAGGGS provided us a lot of concrete ideas to work with girls and teenagers.

The decennium of the United Nations shows us that it is a world level wish all the time to be including more people of good will in a new way of habiting the world.


 

  UNESCO:

The UNESCO, whose web site you can visit, has a big amount of resources available for the group job. The Associated Schools net, the UNESCO, ASNEP that you can also consult on the web into the page www.unesco.org offers the guides of any branch interesting challenges to face with their girls. The CD, Education for the Citizenship of UNESCO proposes itself through an endless number of proposals that children and teenagers play a significant roll in the life of their schools, communities and more widely in the world as John
Daniel expresses in his presentation.
 

The learning of this values, of the respect for national differences, as well as religious and ethnic and the development of a critic spirit, of the reflection capacity and taking a position comes from the six proposed methodological guides: The tolerance, open door to peace; Conflicts resolution; For international comprehension and peace; Tolerance: entrance towards peace, are some of the tittles.

On the other hand the amount of available documents like The Children's Rights Convention, The Salamanca Declaration; The declaration about tolerance allows, especially those who work with older guides, to make them closer to the world of big decisions and agreements made by their own countries in the heart of the United Nations. Learning activities regrouped in four topics: Rights and responsibilities, Peace and no violence, Tolerance and Environment can be included in our meetings, outgoings and camps.

 

    CARITAS:

Many international catholic organizations also answer with their programs, their goals and their projects to the clamor for peace from the compromise of educating for peace. One of them is International Caritas. Its Manual for the formation of agents of reconciliation and peace, written in Spanish, French and English facilitates with rich and simple language a formation way in the pacific resolution of conflicts, the discovery of the other as a brother whose diversity is a gift for each one.

These manuals can be asked in the national offices of Caritas. However, working in a group way on the organization of workshops and meetings to develop this proposal integrating youngsters from the neighborhood, as interested as the guides in growing and being agents of peace, would be much richer than knowing and applying these materials

Don't let others imagine and program our lives, imagine and program a world for us.

Let's teach and learn how to interpret the nowadays history, let's do it from a belonging and communion sense with our brothers and sisters, that are all the men and all the women.
 

Let's teach and learn how to build with the others, with all the human beings of good will, in the hope that the germens of good, justice an peace nestle in the heart of every man will have the possibility of spreading out from the education job.

Frequently immersed in a society that believes very little, bets more for the outer part than for the essence of people, loaded of prejudices, hurries and competence, let's make place for the personal relations, institutions, dreams and hopes.

We can be educators- way partners, going in solidarity, invoking with children and teenagers the presence of Lord of Emaus that teaches us how to live.
