Stanisław Wyspiański (1869 – 1907)
was a playwright, poet, painter and architect. He
successfully combined trend of modernism with themes of Polish history.
In series
of stained-glass windows in Franciscan church in Kraków he expresses
enormous dose of religious emotion.
He also
wrote many dramas covering crucial moments of Polish history. His
famous drama ‘Wedding’ is almost sadly sarcastic view on Polish society of
19th century.
