Buenos Aires, December 2003

      Dear friends from the member organizations and correspondents of the ICCG:

      What has happened in the last few months?

    Mainly, we have started to think of this period of three years with the ideas that came
    up in the world council and from the exchanges inside the regional teams.

Latin America,

         Ï with the aim of reestablishing direct contact with the guide associations of the region, the team has sent its first letter and the schedule to everybody, also improving the web page of the ICCG.  It has sent several requests for financial assistance, and has received the first approval needed to get it, the one from the CELAM.

 Region of Africa

            ÏThrough Goretti´s work, who has been responsible for the coordination of the
 region in this transition period, Africa is considering the possibilities for the next regional
 meeting. In the first place, a post and e mail communication has been established with the
 African associations.

 European Region

             Ï has sent its first informing letter and has had its first team meeting in Dublin. They
  are working on the last details for the next training camp: “Living Stones” (in Trento, Italy) to
  which guides and scouts chiefs will attend.

Middle East

              Ïhas also had its regional teem meeting preparing budget estimates  and planning as well the training camps in Jordan and Egypt. 

As the world coordinator

             Ï I have attended the Seminary and the world assembly of the conference of the OIC, which took place in Rome. The ICCG has been chosen as part of the coordination committee for the next four years. This activity, from which you will be able to get more information soon in our web site, has provided the opportunity to make contact with many other catholic organizations that work in many different fields of action. We hope that in a near future we will be able to work together in projects related with the construction of a society where peace is possible.

       WAGGS - CICS - Holy See

During these first months we have been in contact with the AMGS through mail and we have introduced ourselves to the CICS and to the Holy See

 
       At world level

We have been preparing with the secretary the pedagogic document, which is now being translated into English and French.

The first meeting of the world team will take place in January in Paris, and we will focus on preparing the schedule, which will be presented as soon as finished.

 
   Wishes for Christmas              

I wish you all a beautiful Christmas in the name of the Lord of peace, who invites us to actively build a culture of peace in our towns and groups.
